    Ice Storm 98

    The ice storm of 98 had a dramatic effect on the area. In particular on January 8th and January 9th the department responded to a 174 and 136 calls respectively. This represents an average of approximately a call every 9 minutes during these two days. At peak times the department was receiving about 15 calls per hour.

    During the peak of the ice-strom between January 5th and January 13th the department responded to an amazing 527 calls. During the balance of the year the department would respond to 618 more calls.

    Flood 98

    During the month of April in the southern end of Deux-Montagnes the river overflowed its banks causing flooding in the areas south of Boulevard du Lac on 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th Avenues. This resulted in a higher number of calls between the dates of April 3rd and April 5th. Below is a summary of calls received for this area in the first week of April 1998.
