Brigade
The Deux-Montagnes / Ste-Marthe-sur-le-lac Intermunicipal Fire Service is composed of 34 paid on-call firefighters and officers as well as 1 full-time officer (Director-Adjoint).
Each group is composed of 1 Lieutenant and 4 to 5 firemen. The six groups are on duty on a rotational basis. Groups 200, 211, 222 and 233 are night groups which are on duty from 18:00 to 07:00 the next morning during the week and from 18:00 Friday evening to 07:00 Monday morning (i.e. all weekend). These evening groups are on a four week rotation, with the first night of the week being Thursday. The two day groups (244 and 255) are on a two week rotation from Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 18:00 each day.
Members are not required to have replacements if they are out of town during their duty time. If more manpower is required then multiple groups may be called. In the event of a large scale fire then mutual aid may be called.
No firemen are on stand-by at the station unless weather conditions or another emergency deems this necessary.
